October 29 GWPB Outreach Session: An Inviation

The Guelph-Waterloo Partnership in Biotechnology (GWPB) invites you to attend a community outreach session on Wednesday, October 29, 2003 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Grey Silo Golf Course (2001 University Ave. East, Waterloo).

Over the next five months, GWPB, a consortium of the University of Guelph, University of Waterloo, the City of Guelph, Canada’s Technology Triangle Inc, Communitech Technology Association and Guelph Partnership for Innovation (GPI) will be developing a Biotechnology Plan for the regions of Guelph and Waterloo. This plan will identify the strategies required to unleash the innovation and biotechnology potential of the region by building on regional strengths and knowledge assets.

We need your help as we move forward in identifying key gaps and barriers in the regions for commercializing technology. Your input would be very valuable as we move ahead in the project.

GWPB invites individuals who are involved in, or who are interested in, the promotion of biotechnology research and commercialization as well as the development of manufacturing using biotechnology to participate in the first GWPB community outreach seminar. At the session, the GWPB and the lead consulting firm — Strategic Health Innovations — will provide an overview of the process for developing the Innovation Plan and solicit regional stakeholder input.
