"A new Biotechnology Technician program for Conestoga College
Institute of
Technology and Advanced Learning is just one way that we continue to
be on
the leading edge for skills development," says Bill Jeffrey, Associate
Vice President of Health Science for Conestoga.
"This new program begins in September 2006 and will provide students
with
the laboratory skills and technical knowledge required for employment
as
technicians and it includes practical and technical instruction in
biology, biochemistry, microbiology, analytical chemistry, cell culture,
molecular biology, computer applications, and communication skills
relevant to the biotechnology industry."
Conestoga is Ontario's top college and it offers a significant number
of
Life Sciences and biotechnology related programs from Nursing to Health
Informatics. A Biotechnology Technologist Program is under development.
